PERFORMANCE iN LIGHTING has delivered the new lighting project for the Pit Lane and main straight of the Autodromo Nazionale Monza, one of the most iconic circuits in international motorsport.
Developed in synergy with GEWISS, the project was conceived to enhance safety, operational efficiency and the quality of all activities preceding races and events through a professional lighting system dedicated to the circuit’s most strategic areas. The installation addresses the needs of teams, logistics operators and suppliers involved in setup operations, equipment handling and material loading and unloading, ensuring adequate lighting levels even during evening hours or in low-visibility conditions.
Thanks to a solution designed to combine performance, reliability and energy efficiency, Autodromo Nazionale Monza can now rely on a lighting infrastructure capable of supporting pre-event operations with high standards of safety and visual comfort, further reinforcing the role of PERFORMANCE iN LIGHTING and GEWISS as trusted partners in the development of projects for sports facilities, infrastructures and large outdoor environments.
A lighting project designed around the circuit’s operational needs
To meet the specific requirements of the Autodromo, PERFORMANCE iN LIGHTING developed a complete lighting design based on simulations and on-site verification aimed at achieving the illuminance levels required by regulations for outdoor working activities.
The intervention focused on two strategic areas of the circuit. For the illumination of the pit lane and pit building area, WIN PRO 20 floodlights rated at 68 W were installed above the pit building to ensure uniform lighting across operational zones. Along the main straight, including the starting grid and grandstands, WIN PRO 40 floodlights rated at 575 W were mounted on the grandstand structures, delivering the illuminance levels required for setup, preparation and logistics activities ahead of sporting events.
This configuration made it possible to achieve an average illuminance level of approximately 40 lux, ensuring safe working conditions for operational and logistical activities.
A turnkey solution
PERFORMANCE iN LIGHTING managed every phase of the project with a turnkey approach, starting from technical site inspections and preliminary analyses to define the lighting requirements of each area. Based on the findings, the company developed the lighting design and related calculations, followed by the supply of luminaires, the design and construction of support structures, and the complete installation of the system, including all electrical connections.
The project concluded with on-site testing and measurements to validate compliance with the required illuminance levels. This integrated approach optimized project timelines, execution quality and the overall performance of the lighting installation.
