Partnership project: Wake County Public School System & YMCA of the Triangle
35,000 square-foot facility that includes both an elementary school and a community YMCA
First of its kind in North Carolina, joint school/YMCA facility will be a cornerstone of the Beacon site – a larger campus being built using a national model that focuses on revitalizing an entire community which will include affordable housing units. The endeavor is to create pathways for an emerging neighborhood whose residents would be able to build a better future through education, wellness, housing, medical access and access to healthy foods.
