Born in Milan in 1966, where he graduated in architecture, Alessandro Pedretti worked in Paris from 1993 to 1997. His designs include products for furnishings, offices and urban spaces for Italian and international companies. His lighting design activity specializes in developing and implementing public spaces, hotels, retail and museums, including the Museo del Novecento in the Palazzo dell'Arengario in Milan, the Piano Nobile of the Palazzo Ducale in Urbino and pavilions for Expo 2015. Since 1998 he has been designing products for the lighting sector, both special projects and corporate catalogs.
His product designs have been awarded the IF Gute Form, ADI - Compasso d'Oro Selection and have been exhibited at the world touring exhibition “The New Italian Design”. As a partner with Studio Rota he develops and designs architecture and interior design projects, public and private, commercial and exhibition spaces in Italy and around the world, art, design and fashion exhibitions.
He consults with design companies, magazines, galleries and institutions regarding strategies for research, improvements, product design exhibitions at art and design institutions and museums around the world. He has been appointed scientific consultant for the new Design Museum in Milan, master lecturer at NABA and Milan Polytechnic.
