Design and Project Philosophy

Biophilia

Biophilia has its roots in humanity’s desire to reconnect with nature: in design language, this translates into a return to forms and atmospheres that evoke life and harmony. It’s not just an aesthetic matter, but a way of conceiving spaces and objects that nurture our inner balance and collective well-being. Design thus becomes a bridge between object and nature, restoring a more human scale to everyday life.

This sensibility toward nature has long been rooted in many Far East traditions, where the harmonious relationship between humans and the environment is a foundational design principle. The Zen garden perfectly embodies this connection with nature - a space that distills its essence: raked sand evokes flowing water, emptiness carries the same weight as matter, and light becomes an integral part of the composition.

Tsukubai

Building on this philosophy, the new KIZUMI collection takes inspiration from the Tsukubai, a symbolic element of Zen gardens: a small stone basin used for a purification ritual. Its compact shape and harmonious proportions transform now into a source of light, bringing the same balance between form and function into contemporary gardens.

Hence the name KIZUMI: KI “shine” - and IZUMI “source”, which evokes the image of a pure source of light.
The new collection accommodates multiple installation types, maintaining a unified aesthetic language across outdoor spaces and embracing the idea of a “total space” in contemporary design.

Glass craftsmanship

A tribute to glass craftsmanship: a surface shaped to capture the instant when a drop meets a still pool of water.
This product family brings the Performance iN Lighting glassworking heritage back to life, transforming mastery and tradition into pure, contemporary design.
