SIGN! - Creative lighting solutions.

The immense office block, standing 76 metres tall and known as SIGN!, stands out for its transparent glass façade with respect to the architectonic profile of the Medienhafen, the district on the river port of Düsseldorf. Helmut Jahn’s project is characterised by the streamlined silhouette rising up from the elliptical floor, optimising it technically too, as one of the most modern office blocks of Germany. SPITTLER has harmonised its lighting solutions with the design and energy concept that features throughout the building.

The glass lift takes visitors to the events area on the top floor, laid out over a surface area measuring 1,200 m2 and covered by a large glass dome that shines by night thanks to the linear lighting designed by SPITTLER. The skydeck does not merely offer guests a fascinating 360° panoramic view over the Düsseldorf skyline, but above all it assures large spaces for personal events or business meetings. Thanks to the flexibility of its possible use, SPITTLER has installed the suspended appliance in a continuous line using the SL 787 extension which follows the building structure, stressing the elegant architecture. The lighting system has been adapted to the size of the room and its requirements. The diagonal overlay of the bands with their luminous inserts and the micro prism screen make the light emission particularly even and clear, suited for any atmosphere thanks to the dimmer facility installed.

Whatever events are planned in the future, with the SL 787 continuous line suspension system, the perfect scenario is always close at hand. For the floors used for offices, the ideal component has proven to be the floor-standing SPLITTER SL 740, complete with micro prism screen. This ensures a perfectly ergonomic luminous roofing, suitable for any solution. To reduce energy requirements, all SPLITTER floor-standing appliances are fitted with daytime light control sensors and presence detection sensors. In thus doing, up to 60% energy savings can be achieved. The other added value comes from the design surface lights, which are particularly flat, installed as suspended and wall-mounted variants in the corridors and reception areas.
